PhotographerChris WilsonDescriptionOriginal caption: 'As well as being keen target and sport shooters, many of the members of the Wellington Service Rifle Association are collectors of early days service rifles and other military memorabilia.

Anzac Day for the shooters becomes an opportunity to remember and respect those who served, an opportunity to dust off and display their treasured and well-preserved wartime collectors' pieces and also a chance to try their hand at target shooting.

Pictured: "Sometimes the Vickers 303 would be fired non stop for as long as 24 hours at a stretch. The only breaks would be to change the barrels and top up the water which kept the gun cool," Bill Biber told 11-year-old Brett Watson. The machine gun originated in the UK and could easily fire 550 rounds per minute all day long.'
