DescriptionThe occasion was a Spacetime 2000 conference organised by the Wellington Astronomical Society; speakers included NASA Jupiter and Saturn mission director Bob Mitchell, and Heather Cooper, who had a popular astronomy programme on British TV. 200 adult astronomers conferred for 5 days, and 150 youngsters for one. Ingredients they used to make 'comets' included dry ice (hence the gloves), potting mix, golden sugar (syrup?) and fizzy drink.
