Description
This is part of a series of photos that were taken to document the rebuilding of the tube section of the Dunlop factory. A hole was punched through the thin part of the tube, which was destined to become the part of the tube which sat against the wheel rim. The operator then used a brush with a solvent (Pegasol) to clean off the chalk, so the valve would adhere. The valve bases were hand brush painted with a solvent based adhesive, which was made on site. The trays of valves can be seen in this photo at the level of his dust mask.
