Description
This photograph is part of an album that documents the daily operations of the hospital in its final years. It shows a mural that was painted on the back of the stage in the hospital's recreation hall. The mural is rumoured to have been painted by a US soldier while the complex served as a US Navy hospital from 1942-1944. An article on page 52 of the May 9, 1989, Evening Post, described it as a "Texan backdrop in the theatrette".
