By: Mary Elisabeth Hammond17th Jun 2018 12:53PMThis guard looks like my father Harry McLeod. We lived at Cross Creek from 1945 to 1949.
Brian Spearpoint was our neighbour when we shifted to Upper Hutt.
By: Brian J. Pearce22nd Mar 2014 12:08AMCorrection made by Brian Pearce - the train is about to leave; it is not arriving as originally stated.
The locomotive is either a Wg or a Ww class.
It is likely this photograph was taken before March 1943, at which date a turntable was brought into use at Summit, obviating the need to run locomotives in reverse from Summit to Wellington.
