The display items were reproductions, chiefly of photographs held by local residents or organisations, though some were copied from the Alexander Turnbull Library's collection.
The display was arranged by Councilor Stephen Wilson in December 1988 to commemorate the disestablishment of the Hutt County Council.

Creator (organisation)Heretaunga Pinehaven District Council HistoryHPDCC built a new civic administration building near the junction of Fergusson Drive and Field St. in Silverstream which opened on 14 December 1985.
The Council was disestablished as a result of the reform of local government 1988/1989 and functions undertaken by HPDCC were taken over by the Upper Hutt City Council from 1 November 1989.
