Scope & contentThe collection includes Branch, AGM and Council Minutes, membership lists, attendance registers, newspaper clippings, official stamps and an historical summary of the Branch.
Minutes of Branch, AGM and Council meetings are complete, though from 26 August 1987 Council Minutes are recorded with those in Series 1 for Branch meetings.
Membership records exist for 1957-1960 and 1975-1977 only though item 1/4 includes a printout from the national organisation of membership at 11 August 1988.
There are no correspondence records or photographs. It is possible that a box of Upper Hutt Nurses' Association records were destroyed in 1996, when some losses were experienced by the Library of records which had not been documented.
Records of the national New Zealand Nurses' Association for its Wellington Regional Branch are held at the Alexander Turnbull Library.
In 2017 a yellow clearfile labelled "New Zealand Nurses Association, Archival Material, May 1957-1989, was added to the collection. This contains two lots of photographs, one from the 1982 Silver Jubilee Celebrations and the other from the "Riverfern" dinners, ca 1990.Organisation & ArrangementThe records were held in one small unlidded box in the Library, with no discernible order.In 1997 they were loaned to students of the Victoria University of Wellington Library and Information Sciences archives course for a training exercise.Series 4 Membership records is an artificial series created to hold records on the same subject.The remaining series follow the Association's own arrangement.

Initially pages were headed with the date and sometimes a summary title for the meeting and members signed their names to record their attendance.
From February 1970 they began to add "10 cents paid" (presumably the cost of supper); in 1978 this increased to 20 cents. The final 1998 entries note "supper money is abolished".

Includes draft handwritten notes, a typed copy and photocopies of a history written by Bess Harris in 1982 for the 25th Jubilee. Originally in one folder with clippings but separated for conservation reasons.

Includes material for the branch's 25th Jubilee celebrations; written poems, a typed history, speeches, laser printed group photos of the N.Z.N.A Conference dinner from 1987 and 1988. Also included is the 13 Annual Report, voting for Branch Council 1987/88, and a statement of Receipts and Payments for 1987.
