    " We lived on Newton Road, just... over Moonshine Bridge. I remember sitting on top of the kitchen table when the Hutt River broke it's banks, that would [have] been very early 1950s. On the corner of Moonshine and Newton Road there was a Dairy that sold "Clarke's" ice cream: that building was moved over by the new College at some stage." (Leon Orange)

    "One thing that surprises me is that Hunter's trotting track, which was just past where Holdsworth Ave now is, doesn't seem to be there. Must have been done later." (Bruce Billington)

    "Houses by [the] river were removed not long after this pic because of flooding. Moonshine Road between Main Road and [the] bridge was called Cottle Street with [the] Cottle family's farm house on [the] left before the bridge. Area was known as Cottle Block before it became Poet's Block" (Alistair Macfarlane)
