Original description:-
Centre of photograph is a two storey house, surrounded by trees and a garden. The left side of the house has a roof line running from left to right. The view of the rest of the house is made up of three sections, with gabled roofs. Each section has varying windows. The third section has a chimney. Tall trees are growing behind the house. To the right of the picture is a tall tree. The view of the house is partially obscured by shrubs. In the foreground are low shrubs and hedges.'
A 'Leader' article on May 29, 1974 describes what Scouts found when they demolished the abandoned building in 1938, for a Jamboree.
A second smaller print is in an album of ten photos; 'Trentham. John Barton's old Homestead as it was in 1933'. This is the back of the house, facing what is now Trentham Memorial Park.
