DescriptionOne of a set of 64 images from what must have been a mid-1950s film-strip presentation by Lower Hutt City Council on over 110 years of progress.
Original description:-
"The Aglionby Arms Hotel (Burcham's). Some of the holders of land along the banks of the Hutt River divided their sections into small allotments for 'sale or improving lease', allowing the nucleus of the villages of Richmond and Aglionby to be formed. The Aglionby Arms, in its second position near the Hutt Bridge, was used for many years for meetings to discuss local affairs."
