"Whilst perusing the photos for Upper Hutt College, I came across a couple showing the College Library when it was being built. It was built by my father's Company, Consolidated Constructions, early in 1968. The photo shown at the url http://uhcl.recollect.co.nz/nodes/view/23613 is that of my father (John Malkin, in the shorts), and an unknown building inspector. His team are shown working on the roof. My father remembers the job because on the day of the Wahine Storm, a piece of timber was blown off the 'saw shed' and went flying through the class room wall of the H Block seen in the photo. Luckily no one was hurt at the time. The next photo at url http://uhcl.recollect.co.nz/nodes/view/23614 was also taken around the same time."
