HistoryThe October 4, 1967 'leader' said the group had started as the Methodist Women's Music Group, but the M W M G initials had suggested Gear Meat Works (a Petone abattoir), so the name had been changed to Wesley Revue Club. It had begun as a group of six, led by Mrs Una Tobin, and by 1967 was interdenominational and had 25 members, with Mrs Carol Hawke as musical diretor and Mrs Jocelyn Holmes as producer.
Based at the Wesley Centre, they had been in existence for over 40 years by 1999, and while none of the original members was still in the group, current members' service ranged from two to 23 years.
