DescriptionThe McCafe and children's playground additions to the original restaurant extended it to Main Street. They were announced in August 2001. The November 7 'Leader' announced a 2-week shut-down, and printed 2 pictures. The November 21 issue printed three; one after interior demolition had begun, one of demolition, and a third with building under way. November 28 announced the opening, on that day.
A picture in the June 5, 2002 'Leader' pointed out that McDonald's had not provided a veranda over the footpath; they had argued that there had not been one before, and their customers now had a shorter walk in the rain than before.Date Taken25th December 2012
