DescriptionGethings had had a series of agencies; Chryslers in the early 1960s; then British Motor Corporation Austin and Morris cars and Nuffield tractors; Honda added in the 1970s, and eventually dominated. Mitsubishi, with their wider range of models, was adopted in 1989.
New Zealand Motor Corporation were distributors for Austin, Morris, and other British Leyland products, and Honda cars. From 1969 to (April?) 1979, Magnus Motors ran an Austin-Morris agency on the corner of King Street and Fergusson Drive. Then it was taken over by the New Zealand Motor Corporation, until December 1980, when thy closed, leaving Gethings with the Austin-Morris and Honda franchises.
Gethings also advertised Smart cars, starting in November 2003 and also sell two-wheelers..Date Taken25th December 2012
