An August 28, 1984 'Leader' article gave a history of Upper Hutt Petrol Supplies, who had moved to this site from the corner of Main and Princes streets in 1967. Barry Smith had bought the business in May 1977, but was changing the name to Barry Smith Motors to emphasise the mechanical services on offer.Date Taken25th December 2012
