DescriptionBegun in June 1991, for several years the Toy Library operated from Upper Hutt School in 1993, and later from a garage at 17 Logan Street. After a fire in 2003, the Cosmopolitan Club decided to expand, and acquired the council-owned library land for car parking in June 2004. The library had been planning to move across the street to council-owned land, but the August 4, 2004 'Leader' reported that they had not expected to have to move so soon, and had no funds prepared for laying a concrete slab and moving their building, and an application to the Rimutaka Trust had been declined.
The September 15 'Leader' reported that the new Community First Foundation and the Pelorus Trust had come up with $12 500.
