The original building was damaged beyond repair in February, after a compressor went wrong..
The rebuilt building opened on November 19; at 480 square meters, it had grown by almost 50%, and would seat 100. Chris and Liz Boon had spent more than $4 million on it. Self-service kiosks had increased from two to six, they could now make milkshakes and frappes, and there was a $65 000 two-storey indoor playground. Also added, USB chargers and a sparkle table with touch-sensitive LED lights and interactive options..
They employed 75 staff, including 40 newcomers. Some of the original staff had been deployed to Petone and Upper Hutt, and of those, some had returned to Silverstream.
