The two premier annual prizes in long-range rifle shooting. The Bisley Cup is for individual performance, and the Palma Trophy for teams and individuals. Five of the 16-man New Zealand team were Upper Hutt Citizens, and 13 from the Wellington region.
Both competitions would be held in Trentham; the individual championship January 17-19, and the teams on January 21-22, with the presentation on the 23rd.
John Whiteman came sixth in the Palma individual matches, and the new Zealand team came third to Great Britain and the USA.
