DescriptionThis boiler was made by a John Thompson subsidiary in Hamilton; it was rated at 35 000 pounds/16 000 kg per hour from and at 100 degrees C; noticeably less at its working pressure of 250 pounds per square inch (17 bars).
The last few plates of the shell are resting on what remains of the steel frame which supported the boiler, while allowing it to expand and contract. One can see how thick the outer shell was.
