DescriptionThis boiler was made by a John Thompson subsidiary in Hamilton; it was rated at 35 000 pounds/16 000 kg per hour from and at 100 degrees C; noticeably less at its working pressure of 250 pounds per square inch (17 bars).
The eastern side of the boiler shell has been cut away, and Paul Archibald is working his way down through the fire tubes, and dropping them on the floor. He has yet to start on the shorter first-pass tubes.
