DescriptionThis boiler was made by a John Thompson subsidiary in Hamilton; it was rated at 35 000 pounds/16 000 kg per hour from and at 100 degrees C; noticeably less at its working pressure of 250 pounds per square inch (17 bars).
The eastern side of the boiler shell is being cut away in manageable pieces, working up from near the bottom; the end is near. The top layer of fire tubes is visible.
