DescriptionThe factory was equipped with five Alley McLennan compressors from the start; two large 7-bar compressors for general use, and three 21-bar compressors for tyre curing. After 1983 there was no need for high-pressure air; Atlas-Copco low-pressure compressors had begun to replace Alley McLennan in 1969.
When the factory closed, there was no demand for high-pressure units, and the synchronous motors were obsolescent; this low-pressure compressor went to Wellington Vintage Machinery, in MaymornDate TakenAugust 2007
