DescriptionThe New Zealand Deerstalkers Association is a national body committed to the promotion of hunting as a sport.
The Hutt Valley branch primarily serves the Hutt Valley and Wainuiomata areas, although members come from throughout the greater Wellington region. They have a shooting range at Kaitoke on the incline track.
The first meeting was held in the Woman's Division of Federated Farmers Hall in King St, Upper Hutt, on 20th September 1960. While initially the Upper Hutt Branch was part of the Wellington Branch, by 1962 they had enough members (over 40) to get their own Branch status, and the first AGM was held on 20th June 1962.
