"It is interesting to note that today's railway bridge is not in this scene, as at this time (1949) the rail line crossed the Hutt River on a trestle bridge further downstream where the road to the Silverstream rubbish tip intersects with Eastern Hutt Road." [Harvey Watts]
"The current railway bridge was opened to traffic 21 November 1954." [Brian Pearce]
"[I] caught a trout about where the photo was taken with a nickel plated (bullet) spinner." [Ray Blackley]
