DescriptionCaption: Plateau School pupils Nicholas Comer and Keri Smith, both 8, with this large banner their Room 3 class has made for a competition to raise the profile of New Zealand's many endangered species.

Entitled "Our Survival is in Your Hands", it includes Hector dolphins, takahe, kiwi, fur seals, little blue penguins, kakapo, bats, giant weta and the little black robin.

The competition is being run by the World Wide Fund for Nature and Mother Earth to help educate New Zealand children about environmental issues.
