DescriptionHe had been the outstanding player of the 1935 tour of Great Britain, but had then accepted a four-year professional Rugby League contract; George Nepia was an earlier convert.
During World War II the Union offered an amnesty, and both men applied; George was accepted, but Mike's letter was not found, until two years later, and he was not reinstated until Rule 13 was changed, 50 years later.
