Tony had owned motorcycles since turning 16; at this stage he had been racing for five years in amateur events, using the different bikes for different classes. He was not considering turning professional.
Amanda was a tutor at the Technical Correspondence Institute, and had been his pit crew mechanic; she had recently take n too racing socially, on club days.
The hobby was expensive, with brake pads and wheels having to be replaced every time; prizes might be $3000, but entry fees could be $450.Date TakenDecember 1987
