DescriptionA grey-scale image was printed in the February 9, 1982 'Leader'.
At this time he was:-
City councilor;
Power Board member (he retired in September 1986);
City representative on the Hutt Valley Drainage Board;
City representative on the Wellington Free Ambulance Board;
and had been involved in many other local bodies and organisations.
Reprinted June 23, 1987; he had been awarded a Queen's Service medal.
Reprinted on August 2, 1988 with an obituary; he had died in Hutt Hospital on July 24.
The obituary (and some later additions) listed:-
Energy Board member 33 years, serving twice as chairman and as deputy; had topped the vote count 10 times out of 11;
Chairman, Hutt River Board, for part of his 17 years there;
City councillor 12 years from 1977;
Earthquake and War Damage Commission member for 24 years;
Rotary, Lions, and Workingmen's Club founder member;
RSA executive member;
Masonic Lodge member;
Wellington& Hutt Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association president;
Also involved in Wellington Free Ambulance Association, Wellington noxious weeds Committee, Trade Practices and Pries Commission.
Justice of the Peace, and awarded a Queen's Service Medal.
