DescriptionFirst printed on June 10, 1986, when she was appointed; at that stage, the picture included a filing-cabinet drawer.
She was born in Wellington, had a Bachelor of Arts degree in social anthropology, and joined the Labour department in Dunedin, where she was a student scheme coordinator, STEPS coordinator for Otago, and executive officer for the District Employment and Training Advisory Committee. later, she wen into business as an employment and training consultant.
She had been in Dunedin since 1978, but decided to move north, and the Upper Hutt vacancy seemed suitable; her three daughters were grown-up and independent, and stayed in the south.

The accompanying article was about the community house; she was suggesting it become an activity and resource centre when an Access group left.
In another role, she sometimes became Queen of Moonshine; the King was Graham Stokes. Their Majesties' first appearance may have been the opening of the River Road.
