DescriptionPeter had been elected an M P in 1990.
In 1995 he switched to the New Zealand First party. In the 1996 general election he came third in the Rimutaka electorate, but entered Parliament as a list MP, and became Minister of Employment in a National government; he had been very active with the Upper Hutt Employment Trust.
