DescriptionPrinted in the 'Leader' on June 7, 1994. The Retailers Association 'Citizen' newspaper had opposed 'Spaghetti Junction', while approving the Historic Village project.
A May 23 picture of a cellphone tower proposed for Silverstream had been accompanied with an article criticising its position and appearance.
The July 4 'Leader' reported that the project had been 'axed' by the city council; public support was lacking, there was a $22 500 shortfall in funding, and no sponsors had been found.
The original 'Spaghetti Junction' was a multi-level motorway junction south of Birmingham, England.
