DescriptionIn 1966, as director of community facilities, she had been elected president of the Wellington
branch of the Society of Local Government Managers for 1967; she had also won the Local Government Insurance Corporation's USA managers exchange, and spent a month based in Arlington County, near Washington, D C, starting in April.

The August 17, 2005 'Leader' reported that she was 'leaving city hall after 26 years' to become Victoria University's facilities management director. Her working life had started with a year's secondary teaching, and stints in Trade and Industry and Social Welfare. She first joined council staff in 1979; left after 3 years; five years looking after a young family. She came back on a one-year contract to organise city issues related to the River Road and its 1987 opening. After some time as a part-time secretary, she moved into management work; she had a director's role by 1993.
In 2015 she was Victoria University's director of campus services; mentioned in a January 10 'Dominion Post' article on central-city campus expansion.
