DescriptionG M Lindsay Construction Ltd had entered the Renovations Award field; he had added a separate and self-contained surgery/guest accommodation area, (at left) and a deck which linked the Chapman-Taylor-designed house to the pool area and garage.
Geoff Lindsay is pictured with Doctor Poczwa's wife Bernadette. A second picture shows them with some of the stairways involved.
The renovation won the under-$100 000 class award.
The October 2, 1979 'Leader' printed a wedding picture of Henryk Poczwa and Bernadette Francis Rabbitte, of Invercargill, at the church of St Theresa's, Invercagill.
