DescriptionRimutaka Prison carving tutor Dave Te Hira is seen with newly installed carvings at Upper Hutt police station, and with John Johnston, Police area commander, who had commissioned the carvings. These represented a partnership between police, the prison and the community, and had been blessed the previous week. The carvers had attended the ceremony.
Printed in greyscale in the 'Leader' on October 9, 2002.
Inspector Johnston had been area commander in Upper Hutt since November 1999, and moved to the Wairarapa in August 2003.
