DescriptionOne of a series of scale models made by Jack Collier, around 2002. They were sometimes based on photographs. Many of them are displayed in the Golder Cottage Museum.
He sent photographs to the 'Leader' for publication. The collection has 13, covering the Blockhouse, Golder Cottage, Hazelwood's second building, 'McCurdy's Castle', Upper Hutt Station, Wallaceville Church and a row of 'memorable longdrops'. 11 have been scanned for 'Recollect'; 2 views of the Wallaceville church have not. A copy of the photograph on which this model was based came with the model pictures.
There are also models of Pumpkin Cottage and Wairau Cottage somewhere.
This photo was printed in colour, with a greyscale one of the 19th-century one, in the October 15, 2003 'Leader'.Date Taken6th August 2003
