DescriptionThe 6800 square metres were zoned residential, and were adjacent to a hospital; the improvements included two classroom blocks, changing sheds, and a swimming pool.
Manor Park Playcentre had begun in 1968 and had been at the school for 7-8 years; they occupied part of the buildings, and could operate until November 1; they were hoping for an extension to the end of term. The Hutt Valley Multiple Birth Association used the playcentre as a base, and would be looking for a new home.
The December 18 'Leader' reported that the play centre had been unable to buy 'their' part of the school, as the Ministry sold the whole block as a unit. The centre had closed on December 8, and its equipment was in storage. They hoped to establish a new one in Waterloo by June.Date TakenSeptember 1996Geotag[1] The school site.
