Clark's had started as R A McCulloch & Co; John A McCulloch soon joined his brother, Ron. The firm became McCulloch, Clark & Company when Bob Clark and Mike Fitzgerald joined in the mid-seventies.
By 1996, the business was run solely by Bob Clark.
He advertised a November 12-17 'Images of Upper Hutt' photographic exhibition' in the October 16 'Leader' and asked readers to offer photographs which could be copied and enlarged; this picture some of the results.
Colorpace did the copying and printing.
Rod Evans is holding prints of Upper Hutt's first brick building (Hazelwood's, 1906) and school children outside the Town Hall; Bob's pictures show the Maidstone Park tea kiosk, and St John's church; possibly taken in 1895. Recollect has only the Hazelwood picture; it was Haxelwood's third.
The portraits are of early Hutt MPs.
