Description This picture was printed in colour in the ‘Leader’ on November 20, 1996; this is a darkened version.
The October 16, 1996 'Leader' printed a greyscale photograph of this box; it had disappeared only eight days after it first appeared.
Paul Downing had designed it, and local man Andrew Leary had made it. the base had been left behind.
Two 19-year-old students would be charged with theft. The bandages may have hidden damage, or may have been added for effect.
