DescriptionPrinted in colour in the 'Leader' on October 23, 1996 and repeated on December 31.
The garden was preparing for Festival of Flowers tours on the Saturday and Sunday; they featured 2500 rhododendrons, and several new works of art, plus a gallery of early New Zealand paintings.
Moss Green and Kanimbia gardens were also in the Akatarawa valley, and other Upper Hutt gardens included were one in Heretaunga and two in Chatsworth Road.
