"List of Names and Places from the book Upper Hutt : the history" ISBN 0473101416 was published in June 2005. Copies were ordered by Upper Hutt Library, and the newspaper scrapbook files I created over the time were donated to the Library Archive.
When I left Upper Hutt to move to the Manawatu I gave all rights for future publication of the Index to Golder Cottage Homestead Museum committee.

Date of publication1991Description‘Upper Hutt: The History’ is the standard written history of Upper Hutt. Its author, Jack Kelleher, was a Wellington-based journalist who worked in the Upper Hutt area at two different times. The first was as editor of the 'Upper Hutt Times' newspaper (1949-1951). During this period he prepared a manuscript history of Upper Hutt, 25 copies of which were published by the Upper Hutt Library from stencils in 1971. Two decades later he was commissioned to substantially revise this work by the Upper Hutt History Book Committee, which took responsibility for overseeing the project. This committee grew out of the earlier efforts of the Upper Hutt Valley 1990 Community Committee to collect local historical memoirs. With support from the Upper Hutt City Council the completed volume, was published in 1991. ‘Upper Hutt: The History’ has remained a popular source of local heritage information ever since.
