AddBy: Matt Miller28th May 2022 5:54PMJust reminded of my Dad from a photo shared in a writing group I belong to on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/227695019452077/permalink/358090953079149/
This is due to what he achieved with his own property in Raumati Beach through managing to recover land, previously washed away by the sea, using natural means for catching what goes past or is brought in on the tide or the winds. The winds then "work" to gather up sand around those things which catch it, and then plants grow on the soil on top of that sand which are geared to that habitat and hold everything in place.
With everything happening with climate change, that type of achievement - in working in with Nature - is what we now need to think more about doing, rather than against it.
That way of being (as much as doing) is always what he advocated, but sadly not always understood because many people didn't understand the Science of Nature back then - and just as many still don't get it now. Which is equally as sad.
RIP Dad! Your message was not lost on me - and I continue to "fight the good fight", as I think you at least once referred to it as being
