"Na kōrua te Totara nā Ted, ka hoki na mahara. Ae koutou, Te Oka, Tua, Kemara, Sam, Matene, e pakari tonu te tinana ote Tangata, me ētahi atu kua warewaretia. Moe mai rā te hoa kapahaka a Mawai Hakona. This Totara was milled at the Mangaroa yards, cut to lengths prepared for Carving supervised by 'Te Oka' Mr Jock McEwen. Today Poupou from this log now adorns the walls in Kahukura Meeting House, among many others, on Orongomai Marae, Upper Hutt."
