He had joined the 'Leader' in March 1997
he is pictured with the artwork he designed for the INL Print annual report. The company had run a competition, with 15 entrants from around New Zealand; he won the $2000 prize.
The work had been done at home, a couple of hours a night; full-time, it would have taken a working week. The design featured pictures from INL products against a background of newspaper headlines and text.
