DescriptionCorrections Minister Paul East, acting general manager John Aldridge and chaplain Harry Pomare are seen at Rimutaka Prison in July 1997, on the opening of a new 60-bed unit.
This was a new type of unit for low-security prisoners; it was intended to reduce tensions and stress, and would cost $5000-$9000 per annum to run.
