Major George Bingham, officer commanding first base workshops;
Major General Bruce Meldrum, who opened the workshop;
Lieutenant John Coleman
Behind them, a capstan lathe, designed for quantity production of identical parts.
The buildings had begun in Mount Cok, Wellington, and had been removed to make way for the Dominion Museum in 1930, at a cost of 300 pounds.
The new workshop would house electrical and mechanical engineers, motor reconditioners, carpenters, and the gun bay.
