DescriptionHe had started with the Railways, and met Edna in Taumarunui; when he was transferred, she followed; they were married in Wellington. He left the railways in 1945 to do contract work; initially planting pines at Miramar; the firm's first machine was a second-hand Ferguson tractor bought in 1952.
