DescriptionThe Lockwood wall system originally used solid wood boards approximately 40 by 150 mm laid on top of each other, held together by aluminium extrusions in rebates at top and bottom; exterior walls were covered by matching strips of aluminium sheeting.
Later developments were needed to satisfy insulation requirements for extrior walls.
A greyscale image was printed in the 'Leader' on November 1, 1988.
The Upper Hutt Lockwood Centre had opened at 592 Fergusson Drive in April 1985.
