DescriptionIn December 1985 Celia Lashlie began work as a prison officer at Wi Tako Prison; she was the first woman to work in a New Zealand men's prison.
She had been an Upper Hutt probation officer for two years, and then a prison officer at Wi Tako prison for three years, and had now been promoted to Third Officer at Ohura, 40 km from Taumarunui.
