Introduction

Overview

Brian Rabbitt was interviewed on 12 and 26 October 2000 by Tony Kippax.

Brian remembers growing up in Trentham, and describes Trentham Military Camp and the troops during the Second World War. He talks about working as the grocery manager at Hazelwoods, and about his father's work as a shoemaker and his sudden death. He talks about the rural nature of Trentham, the Hutt River and its floods, and going hunting. Brian also talks about getting married, having children and running a Four Square grocery at Akatarawa. He discusses joining the Territorial Force and involvement with Rotary.
