Mrs Thomas worked for the Central Institute of Technology until she left Upper Hutt in April 1985; she had also been a city councillor for 4-1/2 years, and had chaired the planning (and hearings) committee.
In a March 21, 1978 'Leader' 'Repeal the new abortion laws!' advertisement she was named as regional coordinator.
